To celebrate his 60th birthday, Billy Crystal has finally been given home field advantage. Sort of.

The actor and avowed baseball nut who has toted his love of the game with him into more than a few films has inked a one-day contract with the New York Yankees that will allow him to play in Thursday’s exhibition game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at the Bronx Bombers’ spring training facility in Tampa, Florida.

And despite the unintentionally laughable outcome that resulted from Michael Jordan’s and Garth Brooks’ brief forays onto the field, Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has given Crystal his blessing to play ball.

‘Mysterious’ pygmy hippo seen in Liberia

THE African pygmy hippo, feared extinct amid the dual threats of habitat devastation and civil war, is alive in Liberia.

The pygmy hippopotamus, an endangered species whose closest living relatives after the common hippo are whales, has been caught on camera in Liberia’s only national park.

A team from the Zoological Society of London, Flora and Fauna International and Liberia’s Forestry Development Agency travelled to the west African country to set up hidden cameras in Sapo National Park.

Three days after setting up the cameras the group was surprised to capture the wild pygmy hippos on film.

CNET News.com sat down to chat with the young Facebook founder fewer than 24 hours after the widely criticized onstage interview with BusinessWeek journalist Sarah Lacy, in which a disappointed audience turned on Lacy and demanded better questions.

After the media flurry, Zuckerberg was understandably eager to move on and talk about different topics. But he still touched upon the incident, hinting that while he may not have been totally thrilled with the subject matter, he thought Lacy was still getting unnecessarily hounded.
