Less Cut, More Action Take 2 is a challenge to the ACTRA Toronto membership to create a short film (90 seconds or less) that spreads our message about the need for Canadian drama, Canadian stars, and Canadian cultural policy that contains a commitment to developing and protecting a healthy Canadian film and television industry.
ACTRA members are experts in telling stories on camera so let’s use that expertise to create short, witty and arresting messages that tell the politicians and the CRTC how we feel and get the public on side. The challenge is tell our story in such an entertaining way that people will want to pass the message on. Get political, get creative, and put your wits to work! Submit your co-op film to the Less Cut, More Action Take 2 challenge by January 15, 2007.
Winners will be selected by a jury of industry professionals and compiled on a DVD, which we will proudly deliver to politicians, broadcasters, the CRTC, and screen at our February conference and on www.actratoronto.com. Use your voice to say that we want our film and television screens back. Get involved, get political, get it on film and maybe, just maybe, the rest of Canada will finally get it too!
